Product Features

Cost effective microprocessor-based chargers are designed to increase battery life, lower operating costs and improve system efficiency. 

5 L.E.D. Display: Displays state of charge and charge error conditions.

Charge Protection:

Protects from improper connection, overloads and excessive temperatures.

Programmed safety features include charge time monitoring and thermal runaway detection.

Charge Algorithm:

Configurable I-E-E or I-E-I, with or without external thermistor temperature compensation.

Pre-Qualification Test:

Performs multiple diagnostic tests before charging begins.

Slow (Soft) Start: Gently ramps up to the required output charge level avoiding “battery bashing.”

Multi-Charge Stages: Ensures a consistent and repeatable charge.

Minimal Loading: Disconnected from AC power, but with output leads connected, drain is much less than 0.5mA.

Pull-down inhibit circuit (sink <=100mA).

“5 Stage Charge” Benefits

Stage 1:
Pre-qualification test. Tests a minimum of three areas before charging begins. If a problem is detected, charging is terminated.

Stage 2:
Constant Current Stage: Battery is charged with full rated output current, restoring up to 80% of charge

Stage 3:
Constant Voltage Stage: Regulated voltage “equalizes” individual battery cells resulting in full charge delivered to the battery.

Stage 4:
Maintenance Stage: Charger will trickle charge battery at low voltage to maintain full charge.

Stage 5:
Recycle Charge Stage: Every 28th day, charger restarts cycle to refresh batteries in storage.
