The Ford Escape hybrid is the foundation for our PHEV. An on board charger is added to make it a PHEV. Changes to the battery pack and the sensor program allow it to run on EV entirely within city speed ranges. On the highway it operates as an ICE vehicle with electric boost.
In NEV mode this PHEV would never call on the gasoline fuel system. In highway mode it will get close to 40 MPG.
The original HP rating of 155 is boosted to almost 250Hp for towing and passing conditions.
You will rarely see one of these hybrids on any Ford dealership lot as they sell as soon as they drive them off the car carrier. Ours are order built in lots of ten, so you will need to get your name on our waiting list. Ford states a 6 to 8 week delivery to us, add about 1 to 2 weeks from us to you.
